Although risk factors such as age, family history, and race/ethnicity are not modifiable, getting regular physical activity and having a diet high in certain vegetables and fruits can reduce the risk of prostate cancer.
The older a man is, the greater the chance of getting prostate cancer. Ethnic group – prostate cancer is more common in black men than in Asian or Hispanic men.
African Americans are at increased risk of prostate cancer compared with other men. They tend to get prostate cancer at younger ages, to have more advanced disease when it is found, and to have a more severe type of prostate cancer than other men.
Having a family history of prostate cancer also increases one's risk of getting prostate cancer.
In some studies, regularly eating foods high in fat, especially animal fat, has been associated with increased prostate cancer risk.
The Cancer is small, confined to the prostate and grows slowly.
The Cancer is still confined to the prostate but is more likely to spread.
The Cancer has spread beyond the prostate but not to the lymph nodes or other organs such as the bladder and rectum.
